The Awakening of the Dragon
Every few days the End cracks open and a dragon wakes. It's a team boss fight in its own arena, and the whole server is welcome.
/events

When it runs
- The dragon wakes every 3 days at 21:00 (9pm) server time.
- Once it's up, the arena stays open for 3 hours.
- Chat warns you as it approaches, first the day before, then more often in the final hours. Watch for the purple announcements.
How to join
Open /events and click the dragon while it shows Live now. You get a short
warmup (stand still) and then land on the island.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | Not up yet. The countdown shows when it wakes. |
| Live now | It's running, click to join. It also shows the time left and whether the fight has already begun or is still waiting for the first hero. |
| Ended | This run just finished. |
You can join at any time while it's live, and jump back in after you die. The dragon keeps its health even if the island empties for a bit, so a wipe isn't the end, regroup and go again.
The arena is a separate End, nothing you do there touches the survival world. Break blocks, blow things up, it's all wiped when the event ends. You always have night vision inside the arena (whatever your /settings say), and no wild endermen spawn to bother you. If a tornado flings you off the island, the void won't kill you, you're set straight back down on the platform.
The opening
The first player to set foot on the island starts a 60 second countdown (shown on your action bar) so the rest of the team can pile in before it kicks off. When it hits zero, a short cinematic plays: the sky turns to storm, crystals crash onto the pillars one by one, a portal forms, and the dragon emerges. It lasts about a minute, so late arrivals still make it.

The fight
The dragon's health scales with how many of you are there, so bring friends but expect a tougher fight. A shared boss bar shows its health and the current phase, and the sky pounds with a heartbeat and flashes that get faster as things heat up.

| Phase | What happens |
|---|---|
| The Ascent | Warm-up. Fire breath and falling meteors, light pressure. The pillar crystals sit dormant (they wake at The Call, you can't break them yet). |
| The Call | The dragon turns invulnerable, heals from crystals on the pillars, and dives at you the whole time. Break every crystal to stop the healing (a couple sit in iron cages, break the bars to reach them). |
| The Hunt | Dives, ground acid, and pull-in tornadoes. |
| The Panic | Everything, faster, and two attacks at once. Nowhere is safe. |
If you hit the dragon and it takes no damage, it's shielded during The Call, go break the crystals.
Attacks to dodge
Everything has a tell before it lands, read it and move.
| Attack | Tell | How to dodge |
|---|---|---|
| Meteors | The ground flashes red, faster and faster, with a rising beep | Get off the red before the fireball hits, the blast breaks the ground |
| Dive | The dragon climbs and a red marker locks onto a player | The target moves, everyone else spreads out |
| Fire breath | It lines up a low strafing run | Step sideways off its line |
| Tornadoes | Two tall funnels spin up near players and drift across the island | The closest one pulls you in, spins you up its column and flings you out the top, brace for the landing |
| Acid | Purple globs land and chorus erupts from the spot | Don't stand in the purple |

The horde
Waves of armored zombies claw their way up out of the ground around you, some fast, some heavily geared. A fresh wave rises every 30 seconds through the fight, so keep them off your back.

They're not the main event. Each zombie you kill does chip the dragon a little, enough to show you can wear it down by clearing them, but the chip is tiny on purpose. Hitting the dragon is what actually brings it down, thinning the horde just keeps them off your back.
The arena feed
The fight has its own chat, only players on the island see it. It calls out who joins, the dragon's health as it drops (every 5%), who breaks a healing crystal, who loots a chest (and its rarity), who falls, and who leaves. Nothing of it spills into the main server chat.
Rewards
Kill the dragon and everyone who took part gets a reward: a bundle of Epic/Legendary Loot Chests drops at your feet, and the more you hit the dragon, the bigger it is. Even if you fell, taking part guarantees a solid reward.
Loot always appears as a big, glowing loot chest that drops and falls to the ground, then slowly spins with its rarity floating above it, walk over one to grab it. Nothing is ever placed straight into your inventory, you always pick it up off the floor.

On top of your own reward: a fraction of slain zombies drop a chest, striking the dragon sometimes shakes a chest loose that is flung through the air onto you, and a fountain of chests rains down around the centre for everyone. Sweep the island and collect them.
Opening a Loot Chest
A Loot Chest is an item you carry, place it as a block and it fills itself with loot for its rarity (nicely scattered across the chest), then it's a normal chest. It works anywhere, so take them home and open them at your base.

What's inside scales with rarity:
| Rarity | Roughly what you get |
|---|---|
| Common | A handful of useful materials (end stone, purpur, ender pearls, XP, iron, gold, redstone, amethyst) |
| Rare | Emeralds, gold, blaze rods, obsidian, amethyst, a few diamonds, a chance at an Amethyst item, and a small chance at a key |
| Epic | A bigger haul, a chance at enchanted diamond gear or an Amethyst item, and a fair chance at a key |
| Legendary | The best haul (netherite scrap, shulker shells, echo shards, stacks of gems), a strong chance at an enchanted netherite piece or Amethyst item, and a guaranteed crate key |
Loot Chests are protected (the chest item can't be sold, listed, or traded), but everything inside is yours to keep, use, or trade. Crate keys get both more likely and better with rarity: a small chance of a low key from Rare, mid keys from Epic, and a guaranteed key in every Legendary, usually a Gold or Amethyst Key, sometimes a Crimson. Amethyst items are temporary, they expire 3 days after you get them.
When the event ends, win or lose, a recap posts on the island: the top 10 fighters ranked by damage to the dragon, each line also showing their loot grabbed, mobs killed, and healing crystals shattered.
The victory
Land the killing blow and a closing cinematic plays: the dragon falls, the storm lifts to a bright calm dawn, then the obsidian spikes collapse one after another as their blocks tumble to the ground. A slow wave of grass and flowers creeps out across the island with a scattered grove of tall birches rising in its wake. The last of the horde shrinks away to nothing, and fireworks go up while you collect your rewards.

After the fight
Nobody kicks you out. Grab your loot, mine a bit, and leave on your own with
/home, /warp, or /rtp when you're done, an exit portal also opens at the
center on the kill. The island only resets once everyone has left it, and
anything you leave behind on it is gone once it empties.
If the dragon isn't beaten
If the 3 hours run out with the dragon still alive, it dissolves and leaves, no loot. There's always the next one.
