Give it an image URL and you get back a filled map showing that image, ready to hang in an item frame.
Weekly limit​
How many maps you can make is capped on a rolling 7-day basis, by rank:

Good to know​
- Only http/https image links work.
- Your custom map is locked and can't be copied, cartography table and crafting-table duplication won't work on it.
- Big images are fine within reason; oversized files are rejected.

Custom maps are a cosmetic/decoration perk. Pick images you actually want on your walls, your weekly quota is limited.
