remarque

Mob spawning stops the common wandering hostiles (zombie, husk, drowned, zombie villager, skeleton, stray, bogged, parched, creeper, spider, witch, enderman, pillager, ghast) from spawning near you. Animals, neutral mobs, and the hard/special mobs (warden, blaze, wither skeleton, hoglin, guardians, breeze…) still spawn, so the world stays interesting. It is permissive too, mobs are only blocked if every nearby player has turned mobs off. One person wanting mobs is enough for them to spawn.
