Amethyst Items

Amethyst items are powerful, glowing purple tools from the Amethyst crate. They're strong, but they don't last, and they can't be traded away.

The six Amethyst items in an inventory with their purple glint and 3-day countdown lore

They self-destruct after 3 days

Every Amethyst item vanishes 3 days after you obtain it. The countdown is shown in its lore. This holds even inside shulker boxes, bundles, ender chests, and team vaults, there's nowhere to stash them to stop the clock. You'll get a message when they disappear.

Every Amethyst item is protected: it can't be sold, listed, or traded.

The items

ItemWhat it does
Amethyst PickaxeMines a 3Ă—3Ă—3 area at once.
Amethyst AxeFells a whole natural tree (all its logs, up to 1000). The leaves then decay away in a second or two.
Amethyst ShovelDigs a 3Ă—3Ă—3 area at once.
Amethyst BucketDrains up to 27 connected liquid blocks in one use: water, lava, and the water inside waterlogged blocks (slabs, stairs, fences…).
Shard BoosterDrink it for Ă—4 Shard income for 24 hours.
Happy Amethyst GhastRide a fast happy ghast for 1 minute.
Amethyst PlanterFill it with seeds, then plant a 3Ă—3 on farmland in one click.
Amethyst Capture BallThrow it to catch a calm mob, then place it back anywhere.

The pickaxe and shovel only affect blocks their tool type can mine.

:::tip Natural trees only The axe fells natural logs, the ones that grew there. Logs you placed are left alone, so it never eats your log builds. :::

Amethyst Planter

Fill the planter with seeds like a normal bundle (wheat, beetroot, carrots, potatoes, pumpkin, melon or torchflower). Then right-click farmland and it plants a 3Ă—3 patch of that seed at once, using the seeds straight from the bundle.

  • It plants one seed type per click (the first one in the bundle).
  • Only open farmland tiles get planted, and only as far as your seeds last.

Amethyst Capture Ball

Throw the ball at a calm mob (any animal, villager, golem, and other non-hostile mobs) and it's caught into the ball. Hostile mobs and players can't be caught.

  • Throw the ball again to release the mob where it lands.
  • The ball shows which mob it's holding in its name.
  • The ball comes back: it returns to you after a release, and if a throw catches nothing it lands back for you to pick up. Reuse it for its whole 3 days.
The mob is kept exactly

Releasing gives back the very same mob: its age, health, colour or variant, and name tag all come back as they were when you caught it.

Crops don't get trampled

Jumping or falling on farmland no longer turns it back into dirt, so your fields stay tilled.

Riding the Happy Ghast

Right-click the Happy Amethyst Ghast and you poof onto a small, fast happy ghast with a purple harness for 60 seconds.

A player riding the small purple happy ghast

  • The ride ends on its own after a minute, or if you dismount, the ghast dies, you log off, or the server stops.
  • When it ends, the item drops right where you land, you never lose it.
  • Cooldown: only a 3-minute cooldown if you burned the full minute. If you dismounted early, the leftover flight time is banked on the item, no cooldown.
  • The item keeps its original 3-day timer either way.
